Doctors of Ho Chi Minh City’s Children Hospital No.2 have successfully performed the kidney transplantation on an eleven-year-old boy, Nguyen Van G, from the southern province of Binh Phuoc.
Suffering from kidney disease for three years, the boy was treated artificial blood purification since August, 2009.
During the five hours operation with support of experts from Cho Ray hospital, the doctors cut the left kidney of his father, Nguyen Van T, 50 years old by endoscopy for the transplantation.
After the transplantation, the patient is now in stable condition with his kidney working and beginning to have urine.
This is the seventh successful case of its kind conducted in the hospital.
